The purpose of Mustard Seed International

The purpose of this blog is two-fold : Purpose number one is to serve as a tool to reach out to those individuals or groups who do not personally know Jesus Christ; and purpose number two is to connect, mobilize, engage, instruct, and encourage fellow believers to be the church, to better understand it's Head, the Father's calling and His glorious purpose for us, His church.

In Matthew's gospel the 13 th chapter, in verse one we see Jesus leaving out of the house where he had been minstering . This leaving out of the house is symbolic and significant. Jesus had just been rejected by the house of Israel, the Jews. He also sat beside the sea, symbolically the sea is the multitudes. Christ was looking back in history when the purpose of the father was revealed and spoken to Abraham, then called Abram, but God changed Abram's name to Abraham , which means the father of many nations. God said that in Abraham all the nations of the earth would be blessed. And the scripture forseeing that God would justify the gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, " In you shall all the nations be blessed." Gal. 3:8

In verse 16, it says, "Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, "And to offsprings," referring to many, but referring to one, "And to your offspring," who is Christ. Jesus when he called the 12 Apostles, he had this far reaching purpose in mind.

We too must see and embrace the purpose of The Lord Jesus Christ when he saved us, we now are Abraham's seed, and we are part of the great nations made up of all kindreds, tribes and tongues, which form the body of Christ, his church and the embodiment of his kingdom. In him there are no ethnic, racial, economic, denominational, sectarian, or any distinctions. We all consitute and eternal brotherhood. Read through the epistles of the Apostle Paul, each church is addressed as brothers. According to the Apostle Peter we are an eternal priesthood, and a holy nation. This is the same nation that God spoke to Abraham about when He called him.

He put anothe parable before, them saying, "The Kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches." Matt. 13:31,32 ESV
